The first phase of site improvements on this project was completed in 1996 in association with the construction of new multi-use structures on the MetraPark Fairgrounds. Site improvements designed and implemented by Fischer & Associates included landscape and signage improvements to entryways, new paving and landscaping of new parking lots, and development of a small park with a pond, performance and seating areas, and landscaping. The Metra Trail, a multi-use pathway, weaves along the "backside" of the Metra property. Part of the master planned community greenway system, the pathway improves pedestrian connections to and within the facility. Further development and improvements are to be implemented in the future. |
